A not so easy profile !
In the family of special cold-drawn steel or stainless steel profiles, here is a good example of a series of deformations resulting from the development of the industrialization of a new product for one of our clients. With a width of approximately 150mm and a thickness of more than 10mm at the widest part, cold drawing this profile requires the use of our 100 ton bench which is our most powerful drawing bench ! It is clear that, given the efforts involved, the surface preparation and the drawing lubricants used play a fundamental role in the success of such a feat... and it must be admitted in this case that not everything didn’t go perfectly on the first try. But we learned, we adapted our ranges and we finally arrived at the expected result.
